FIRST LIGHT

I do most of my photo shoots during the evening, the best lighting is right after the sun goes down.... However, I really wanted to experiment with the lighting at dawn, so Rebecca Larzik woke up before the sun came out, put on a bikini and traced around the cold beaches while I snapped away. These are the photos I shot as the first rays of light hit the sky.

EL GUAPO

My Good friend Alex Lopez, who is also one of the most beautiful men I have ever seen, graciously posed for me this past spring. I had a male portrait assignment for class and in exchange for his amazing modeling talent, I bought him a round of all-you-can-eat tacos. (Free food is Alex's weakness!) Here are a few of my favorites! :)

The Violet Hour

I wish I could say "it was just a typical lunch break" when I staged a photo shoot of a co-worker/friend of mine during our lunch hour at O'Neill, but I can't. In a whirlwind of sunshine and rain, Anya Violet revealed her inner model in the mustard fields.

SCARLET LETTER

My really great friend Rachael Hill, AKA Scarlett (named for her alter ego) posed for an experimental "lighting" photo shoot a couple of months ago.. I shot some amazing photos of her as a little surprise gift for her husband!

Mug-shots

My friend Jenny hated her work head-shot and needed some new profile photos taken, so alas I came to the rescue! It was a mix between a lighting project and glamour shots. Jenny was a great model, and she didn't even freak out when I made her sit in this thicket of dead tree branches most likely infested with a billion spiders.. Look for her new mug-shot on the fish radio website in the near future! :)

Pool Day

A couple weeks ago we took a fun work trip to Palm springs.. Poolside in January; definitely nothing to complain about! My boss Amy brought her adorable 2 year old daughter on the trip and I just couldn't resist snapping a few photos of them!

Steph and Troy

Stephanie and Troy had a dream wedding this past fall when they got married in a castle in Scotland. To celebrate with their family and friends they had their reception at the bride's Aunt and Uncle's home on the La Quinta golf course located in Palm Springs.
